Horticultural Leases
Horticultural leases allow the landowner to generate income from open land that would normally go unused, or become overgrown. Leasing those open areas to a nursery, or Christmas tree grower would not only produce income, but it would also keep the area from becoming overgrown in weeds. There also options open to landowners who are currently growing white pines for timber. By selling the tips of white pines for holiday wreaths and roping, a landowner can generate income from the pines when they are seven to ten years of age. Groups that lease land for horticultural uses will maintain the land, and control unwanted pests that may affect their crops. The landowner in return gets control of open spaces without added work or expenses. Horticultural leases in whole are a safe easy way for landowners to produce income from their land. If you are interested in leasing your land for horticultural uses please give Casey & Company Forestry, PLLC a call.
