Herbicides
Herbicides are extremely useful forestry tools. They are often the most cost effective way to control unwanted species in your forest. Herbicides can be used to kill unwanted species that are competing with your valuable commercial timber species. Removing the unwanted competition allows your timber to grow quickly and vigorously. Herbicides can also be used to favor hard-mast producing trees, or create snags, which are both quite beneficial for wildlife. If you have a problem with non-native invasive species, such as kudzu or ailanthus, herbicides will likely be the only way to control them. In addition to all this, the use of herbicides can make your woods a more appealing place to look at and walk through. Selectively controlling the unwanted bushes and shrubs can make the woods a very pleasant place to be. Casey & Company Forestry, PLLC has relationships with several skilled and qualified herbicide applicators. We will be glad to assist you with arrangements for herbicide release to make your forest a better place.
